Primary Eye Care
Primary eye care includes a comprehensive vision and eye health examination. This examination is designed to detect a wide range of problems affecting vision function, such as blurred vision or eye discomfort.
Evaluations for eye health disorders are also performed. The American Optometric Association recommends that all people should have a periodic, comprehensive eye examination every one to two years depending on one's particular needs.
We follow the 6 - 3 - 6 rule recommended by the American Optometric Association. The first examination in our lives should be within (6)mo to 1year of birth. Our doctor will examine your child for free within that time should you choose to bring them in during your appointment. The next exam should be within (3)-4 years to make sure each child hits their developmental milestones. Next should be in the (6)th year before critical education begins. Most insurances will cover the yearly check-ups after that. We recommend waiting no longer than 2 years even with previously healthy results as complications can occur that carry no symptoms.
Examinations include tests for glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, and the ocular effects of many general health disorders such as diabetes and high blood pressure, as well as effects of medications.
Eye Exam Technology
Our office offers state of the art computerized technology from generating prescriptions to analyzing your ocular health with optical coherence tomography scanning. We offer an iWellness exam that captures pathology before it can damage your eyes. Computerized examination instruments are used to supplement rather than replace personalized care.
Eye Exam Dilated Pupils
A dilated pupil examination allows us to provide the best assessment of eye health. It is recommended for all new patients and on a scheduled basis thereafter.
